Growing up as the son of an Architect, Ryan had been exposed to drawing and drafting in orthographic and perspective views at a very early age, creating an ideal foundation for the arts as a base, though his love for the arts was only further broadened by the rise of video games and the ascent of 3D animated movies and visual effects throughout his childhood. Movies, just to name a few, like Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and beautifully made game cinematics found in the Final Fantasy, Tekken, Diablo and Star Craft franchises, all of which blew Ryan's mind. These are but a few of the inspirations that fueled Ryan into pursuing the dream of him being part of the 3D animation and modeling industry as a 3D artist.
Ryan specializes in 3D sculpting, modeling, texturing, and compositing, with proficiencies in programs such as Zbrush, Maya, Mudbox Substance Painter, Mari, Marvelous Designer, AfterEffects, Nuke and Photoshop, He has also dabbled with some animating, dynamics, rigging and even 2d stop motion, but currently still is furthering his evolution as an artist by taking independent external courses mentored by Rafael Grassetti (Art Director of Santa Monica Studios), Morten Jaeger and Henning Sanden (Co-Founders of Flipped Normals) to polish his skills.
Some notable achievements of Ryan are; 2021’s The Rookie Flash Gordon Modeling Highly Commended Award, The Rookies Excellence Awards, and Finalist Award, The Academy of Art University, Spring Show Winner in Hard Surface Modeling and Stop Motion Short, and 2019s featured artists with multiple entries, under Fine Art: Sculpture, Color Theory, and Foundations categories, 2010’s Art Institute of San Francisco’s best new experimental animator, 2004-2006 PAGIBIG art competition Champion in the Philippines.
